Before purchasing a parrot, please do your research. All parrots have their pros and cons and the bird that works great for a friend may not work out in your home. Some are louder than others, some prettier, some more inclined to talk but all can be great pets if you do your share! Birds are NOT domesticated animals like dogs or cats. You can get a tame bird but it's not domesticated. Which means that if you don't regularly spend time socializing your bird, he will almost always revert to a wild or semi-wild condition. Wild birds operate on the Fight or Flight principle: If he feels afraid and trapped (cage or home) and cannot escape , his instinct is to fight which can relate to a very painful bite. My baby will come to you tame and loving. Daily loving attention will keep him that way!
